A trip to Amiens wouldn’t be complete without visiting Jules Verne’s house. Just 5 minutes away, enjoy its close location near our hotel, where you’ll be able to dive into the universe of the author who wrote “Journey to the Centre of the Earth” and “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.” The novelist, originally from Nantes, came across this large house in Amiens located at the corner of Boulevard Loungeville and Rue Charles Dubois, then offered for rental. He moved there with his wife Honorine and spent many happy and productive days there until 1900.
From the winter garden to the attic, discover the authentic atmosphere of a fully-furnished 19th century townhouse and relive the adventures of Jules Verne’s many characters. The Maison à la Tour contains more than 700 interesting heritage objects and documents, allowing you to get to know the writer up close.
Jules Verne’s house is open every day from 15 April to 14 October; weekends from 11am to 6:30pm; Tuesday from 2pm to 6:30pm; Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 12:30pm and 2pm to 6:30pm.
